TANIA VELASQUEZ
This project represents my vision on how I see sustainable fashion in the next years. I imagine a future fashion where designers and artisans have the same credit and acknowledgement where local production and materiality are key.
I created a silhoutte that had historical references but also a garment that can be worn for many occasions. The crystals used were grown and crafted, and cause no harm to the environment.
As part of a circular design practice, the dress is designed to be worn with or without crystals. The remaining solution of the crystals can be used to grow more crystals, hence infinite crystals; cristaux sans fin.

Sample of crystal grown on thread using leftover of saturated solution. Notice the small crystals growing along the thread, and the change of color.
